The Edward S. Mason Program is Harvard’s oldest international student program recruiting leaders from developing and transitional countries around the globe with a strong commitment to public service.
Over 2,000 students have graduated from this Program since it started in 1957. These alumni have returned to their countries to become Presidents, cabinet ministers, NGO directors, editors, central bank governors, chief executives, and senior-level government officials. Currently, six Mason Program alumni are Heads of State and one of them is the current Secretary General of the United Nations.
Harvard University Mason Alumni Network has been officially recognized as a special interest group by the Harvard Alumni Association and will soon be incorporated as a 501 (3c) organization in the state of Massachusetts.
