Support Women's Rights Defenders in Iran

On March 4, 2007, 34 women’s rights activists were beaten and arrested in Iran . Two remain in prison charged with threatening national security. The women involved - journalists, lawyers, educators, social activists, and students - are my friends and colleagues. It is heart-wrenching to watch all that is happening to them. In conversation they speak of their fear, but also of their resilience and determination. All freedom-loving women and men are called upon to join Iranian women in their struggle for a democratic and peaceful society. In this spirit, your support is needed to send a letter to the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon, a former KSG student, on behalf of the KSG community. Please click here to sign this letter. Each of your signatures carries a great weight, so please take a few moments to add your name. Note that the poll will remain posted only until midnight on Saturday, March 17.
