December 2006: a month of religious holidays

Three major religions have their holidays during this month:
Dec 16, Jewish holiday of Hanukkah
Dec 25, Christian holiday of Christmas
Dec 30, Islamic holiday of Eid al-Adha

And it is very interesting to note the meaning of these holidays:
- Jewish holiday Hanukkah means "dedication" because it marks the re-dedication of the Temple after its desecration under Antiochus IV.
- Christmas marks the traditional birthdate of Jesus of Nazareth.
- Eid ul-Adha is celebrated by Muslims as a commemoration of Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son (Ishmael) for Allah.
